At its Annual Council Meeting on 21 May 2025, Felixstowe Town Council elected Cllr Corrine Franklin as the Mayor of Felixstowe for the Municipal Year 2025/26. On the same evening, Cllr Darren Aitchison was appointed as Deputy Mayor.

Cllr Franklin, who has been a member of the Town Council since 2023, accepted the office with a clear sense of purpose. Her theme for the mayoral year is Community — a fitting choice for a town that, at its best, is defined by the strength of its local networks, voluntary organisations, and neighbourhood spirit.

"It is a great honour and privilege to be elected as Mayor of Felixstowe," she said on accepting the chain of office. "I would like to thank all those that voted for me. And a special thanks to the outgoing mayor, Councillor David Rowe, who did a fantastic job last year."

"My theme for this year is Community. I would like my mayoral year to highlight all the people, organisations and groups which makes Felixstowe the wonderful place it is. I am looking forward to the year ahead, meeting as many people as I can and representing the town at the various events and meetings throughout the year."

The Mayor hosts a number of civic events throughout the year, including the Mayor's Civic Service, the Mayor's Civic Reception — at which distinguished guests from the local community are welcomed and the Mayor's chosen charities are highlighted — and the Mayor's Civic Carol Service at Christmas.

The Mayor of Felixstowe Charity Fund is a registered charity (no. 1184138). If you would like the Mayor to attend an event you are organising, contact [email protected].
